HOLIDAY THRIVE GUIDE
The art of letting go.
Do less, be more.
Less is truly more during the busy holiday season.
Less is truly more during the busy holiday season.
- Save new projects for the new year.
- Set your priorities and stick to them.
- Don't get stuck on "the way you've done it before". What makes sense today?
- Simplify your meals. Check out my recipes below.
- Let go of what you can't control, and move on.
- Be intentional with how you spend your time.
- When decorating your home for the holidays, set out only the decorations that you LOVE and give away the rest.
- Simplify gift giving.
- Draw names for Secret Santas instead of buying gifts for every relative.
- Buy only one gift for each family member.
- Limit yourself to 4 items for your young children: "Something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read".
- Schedule a New Year hike or lunch with a friend in lieu of exchanging gifts.
- Draw names for Secret Santas instead of buying gifts for every relative.
- Spend less, love more. Focus on experiences over physical gifts.
The art of indulgence.
We can indulge in rich foods, tall drinks & more this season, but when we step into the true spirit of the holidays, we have an opportunity to partake in the decadent art of indulgence in ways that, rather than create bellyaches & headaches, will enhance our well-being, connection, health & joy.
Here are just a few ways to indulge this holiday season:
- Indulge in taking deep, extravagant breaths. This works wonders in the checkout lines!
- Indulge in hydration. Drink a warm/hot cup of water 20-30 minutes before each meal. Bring a thermos with warm water with you and take sips throughout the day.
- Indulge in food that makes you stronger, healthier & more energetic. See my recipes below.
- Indulge in mini breaks throughout your day. Relax & ground yourself with 5 minutes of stretching, yoga or meditation.
- Indulge in service. Volunteer, donate, help someone with their bags.
- Indulge in yoga! Join me Thursdays at noon for an all-levels yoga class designed to open your heart to the gifts of the season.
- Indulge in self-compassion. If you indulge in a way that isn't nourishing, simply acknowledge what you've learned & quickly move on to enjoy the rest of your day.
- Indulge in relationships. Favor connection over consumption. Rather than focusing on the food, focus on truly connecting to family & friends.
- Indulge in gratitude. Relish the gifts and abundance that you already have in your life.
- Indulge in being present. Enjoy the sights, smells, laughter, joy & peace around you.
