Foundation Training

Foundation Training is based on the premise that we move wrong. Specifically, we don't activate the posterior chain to do what it was built to do. Foundation Training offers bodyweight exercises that allow us to return our bodies to their natural postures. While the exercises seem simple at first glance (no equipment needed), they are profound. The exercises work in two ways:
  1. Decompression movements unwind and elongate the body to release pressure.
  2. Anchoring movements strengthen the body's ability to hold itself upright and properly propel itself through space with stability and flexibility.

Sam recommends that you start with the book by the creator of Foundation Training, Dr. Eric Goodman, True To Form: How To Use Foundation Training for Sustained Pain Relief and Everyday Fitness.
Foundation Training's YouTube channel is a great resource for dialing in the specifics of each exercise.
