Hot Spiced Milk

Hot spiced milk is a wonderful bedtime tonic.  Sip slowly in a relaxed and comfortable environment.  Sweet dreams!

  • 2 cups milk (cow, goat, almond, hemp, etc.)
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp. cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • options:
    • 1 tsp. ghee, pinch of saffron, coconut
    • pinch of saffron
    • soak dates in warm water then blend with milk before heating on stove with other ingredients
    • soak almonds, peel skins, then blend almonds with milk before heating on stove with other ingredients

Adjust the ingredients based on your personal preference.  To simplify, use only milk and 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. nutmeg.

Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture starts to boil (when it starts foaming up the sides of the pan).  Lower heat to simmer for 5 minutes.  (Strain if you added coconut, dates & almonds.)  Slowly sip while still warm.
