Green Smoothie
When my parents were visiting, my dad was incredulous as he watched me assemble this smoothie. With a grimace on his face, he bravely tried a sip, immediately smiled and then burst into laughter, "I don't believe it. This is actually quite good!"
Place ingredients in blender in the above order. Blend and enjoy!
Note: I wait until the bananas on my counter are very ripe, then I cut them into small slices and freeze them on a baking sheet before storing them in a zip-loc bag in my freezer. The smaller frozen banana slices are much less work for your blender.
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 Tab. flax seeds
- 1 Tab. raw almonds
- 1 - 2 tsp. raw cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla (optional)
- Large handful of Swiss chard
- 1 frozen banana
- 3 - 4 ice cubes
