Green Chocolate Smoothie

If it weren't for the lovely green color of this smoothie, you might not even be able to tell it is brimming with spinach.  This is my favorite summer treat.
  • 1/2 c. almond milk
  • 2 tsp. raw cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder)
  • 1 Tab. flax seeds
  • 2 c. packed spinach
  • 1/2 c. frozen blueberries
  • 1 frozen banana

Place ingredients in blender in the above order.  Blend and enjoy!

Note:  I wait until the bananas on my counter are very ripe, then I cut them into small slices and freeze them on a baking sheet before storing them in a zip-loc bag in my freezer.  The smaller frozen banana slices are much less work for your blender.
