Cleansing Green Drink
I love smoothies, but cold weather + a cold smoothie = frozen & miserable me. While this makes enough for 2 people, I drink the whole thing.
Place ingredients, in order listed, in blender.
Note: Play with the quantities based on your personal preferences. This is not a sweet smoothie, so add a sweetener if desired (try stevia, soaked Medjool dates, maple syrup or honey). If digestion is an issue, soak the seeds in the coconut water for 10+ minutes before adding to the blender.
- 1 cup coconut water (or water)
- 3 – 4 cups fresh spinach
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 3 – 4” of large cucumber (remove seeds if not English)
- 1/2 - 1” knob of ginger (no need to peel if organic)
- 1 Tab. fresh lime juice
- 1 Tab. flax seed (soak first in water for a few minutes)
- Generous dash of cayenne pepper
- Optional: collagen hydrolysate/peptides, protein powder, chia seeds, hemp seeds, natural sweetener of your choice
