Chelation Cilantro Pesto

This recipe is found on multiple websites and is promoted as a natural way to remove heavy metals from your system.  Cilantro is used in many forms for heavy metal detoxing.  I was first introduced to this pesto on a seasonal cleanse developed by Maggie Koblasova, a gifted Ayurvedic Practitioner, yoga teacher and dear friend.  Maggie recommended taking 2 teaspoons of this pesto for 3 weeks.

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/3 cup Brazil nuts (for selenium)
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (for cysteine)
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds (for zinc and magnesium)
  • 2 bunches fresh organic cilantro (~ 2 densely packed cups)
  • 2/3 cup flaxseed oil
  • juice of 1 lemon (for vitamin C)
  • 2 tsp dulse powder (for minerals)
  • 2 tsp Bragg's liquid amino acids (you can replace the aminos with 1/2 - 1 tsp. sea salt, to taste)
 
Blend in food processor just until mixed, or to desired consistency.  Store in dark glass jars if possible.

This pesto is amazing over cooked vegetables and especially over cooked grains and vegetables.
