Banana Ice Cream
The trick for me when making smoothies and frozen treats with bananas is to patiently let a bunch of bananas fully ripen on my kitchen counter, then slice them, arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet & place in freezer. Once frozen, I store them in the freezer in a gallon ziploc or glass container. The small chunks make the blending process much easier.
Start with 1/2 cup almond milk, vanilla & cacao (if using) in blender. Add 2 frozen slices of banana at a time and blend completely, adding more milk if needed.
- 1/2 - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- sliced frozen bananas (about 2 bananas)
- dash vanilla extract
- optional: 1 tsp. raw cacao powder
